The story took place at Liza's home where she and her aunt was preparing sinigang. 2. Who are the characters in the story? Answer the following questions in your own words (at least 5 sentences): 1. What is the Kariton Klasrum? Why was it built? Kariton Klasrum is a project founded by Efren Penaflorida which aims to provide proper education to the less unfortunate. Along with other co-founders and volunteers from the said project, they used education as a tool to teach those youth coming from the slums and relentlessly try to shift their futures to a brighter path. Using small  kariton  or push carts, they taught little kids to read and write. They also taught them about proper hygiene and some general values to also better their morals. He mentioned that he himself also experienced the hardships of being poor. Because of this, he built this project to ensure that these kids will have someone to lean on for the challenges he also once had. 2. After watching the videos, pick out some lines (at least three) wherein the speakers look back at  some of their experiences like the example below: “Kasi dati, nabubully ako sa school. Ang pumasok lang sa isip ko nun, gumanti. Siya (KB) yung tutulong sa ‘kin na makipagresbakan, and akala ko nun ano e, ‘makikipagbugbugan’ kami e, sapakan. Tinuruan ako ni KB kung paano maging Salbabida rin sa iba.”   After writing down some of the lines about their memories, compose your own  reflection about it. Write a  text  tula  as a  tribute to the people in the video and acknowledge their share in the society  by helping other people. Statements: Efren: “Tapos sa tulong din ng grupo naman nina Kesz, kase si Kesz may sarili niya siyang grupo. Actually nag-volunteer siya sa amin when he was sux years old. Bata pa siya noon.” KB: “Nakakarelate iyong mga children kase kilala nila si Kesz as one of them.”

Week 3: Discussion#3

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:  (5 sentences min.) 1. What do you like more - reading 21st Century Literature (Manga) or watching its video counterpart (anime) like Naruto, Sailormoon, and others? Why? Honestly, I am just not fond of reading for entertainment especially long pieces. That is why I prefer watching the anime rather than reading the literature or the manga. Reading offers more details such as different thoughts and perspectives of each character. There are also a lot of extra scenes that are worth knowing but still do not end up in the productions. However, the act of reading is just tiring for me and this applies to other genres of literature such as novels. However, the video counterpart or the anime offers better overall satisfaction. It has great music, voice actors, and smooth animation and movements. With this, I appreciate video counterparts such as anime and TV series that transfers exciting stories from these literature into other media that I can enjoy. 2. In the exam...
